The Role



Are you looking to start your career in insurance? This role would suit anyone looking to for an entry-level role.

You will be the first point of contact for the team, dealing with simple queries and directing phone calls to the relevant team members. This role includes providing quality service to clients, covering multiple aspects of their insurance arrangements as well as liaising with our panel of insurers.

Primary responsibilities will include the administration of client policies, securing payment of premiums, obtaining renewal terms from insurers as well as new quotations and preparing the file ready to pass over to the brokers and ultimately supporting the team in achieving their daily tasks.

To aid your development, you will also shadow the brokers in respect of the next steps of the process and advise to clients with the goal of progressing to an Account Handler role.

We will support you with training and fund your professional qualifications via the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) with the view of becoming an insurance broker.

This role will suit someone looking for their first step in their career or an individual who may like to consider a change of industry.

General responsibilities:



To be the first point of contact for customers. You will be answering the main phone line so you will be expected to exude a welcoming and professional manner. Responsible for the "general enquiries" mailbox - you will be expected to monitor the mailbox and make sure all queries are directed to the appropriate team. All incoming post to be dealt with efficiently and accurately. Accounting duties - Credit Card and BACS receipts, allocation of funds, bank reconciliations. Manage the inventory of insurer policy wordings/booklets. Facilities - making sure communal areas are tidy and ordering supplies (milk/tea/stationery/etc). Compliance with existing and future standard operating procedures and guidelines, staff handbook, etc. To actively seek new clients for the firm through referral sources, networking and cross. To check documentation from the insurer is available. Collating renewals and quotations and preparing the file for the brokers within the team. To follow our internal claims procedures as documented.
Working hours - Monday to Friday. 8:45am - 5:00pm.

The team currently work from home 2 days per week (Mondays and Fridays at the discretion of the company). This opportunity will be extended to you upon completion of your initial training which will typically take 2 months. You must therefore be prepared to attend the office daily from Monday to Friday.

Requirements



A minimum of A-Level (or equivalent) qualifications. Excellent face to face and telephone skills. Good level of proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent time management and productivity. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Reliability and honesty Accuracy and attention to detail Native level English verbal and written communication skills Show an interest in general insurance and be willing to study for CII Insurance qualifications. Benefits



The salary will be

23,000

depending on your level of experience. This will be reviewed after 12 months. Contributory pension scheme. We will fund the cost of your CII membership, study materials and exam entry. 21 days holiday allowance (in addition to bank holidays). The option to join our private medical scheme after your probation period. Regular social events. 25 weekly Deliveroo allowance when in the office.
