We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join our growing team!
The Operations Manager is a critical leadership role, fully accountable for the successful execution and oversight of all full turn-key telecommunication operations. This includes the end-to-end delivery cycle: initial surveys, network build, civil engineering (civils), and final service delivery.
You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, ensuring all projects are executed with maximum effectiveness and efficiency. A core function of this role is to be proactive in identifying and solving operational blockades, implementing sustainable solutions, and continually optimizing processes to guarantee maximum service delivery and value for our client. Success in this role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic foresight, and exceptional people management skills.
Responsibilities
:
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
Continuously assess, refine, and champion best-practice project management and operational processes to ensure continuous development and organizational learning across all phases of the turn-key delivery.
Cost and Program Efficiency:
Design and manage the most efficient and cost-effective program of works, rigorously maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the build and deployment lifecycle.
Project Governance & Accountability:
Maintain absolute accountability for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the entire telecommunications programme, ensuring all deliverables meet defined specifications.
Risk & Opportunity Management:
Proactively anticipate and manage dependencies, risks, and opportunities across all operational areas to mitigate potential threats and leverage opportunities in support of increased business performance and client satisfaction.
Program Management:
Develop, manage, and meticulously maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones that are fully aligned with client contractual obligations and strategic business objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with internal and external cross-functional teams to clearly define the scope of work, agree upon key objectives, and rigorously enforce key performance indicators (KPIs) across all project stages.
Contractual Compliance:
Rigorously assess performance against the Master Service Agreements (MSAs), ensuring full and documented compliance with all contractual and regulatory obligations (e.g., HSEQ standards).
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Develop and maintain robust, long-term key relationships with the client at all levels, acting as the primary point of contact for operational performance. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with all internal stakeholders.
Industry & Business Development:
Actively build and nurture relationships with key contacts within the industry (suppliers, partners, regulatory bodies) to inform operational strategy. Actively strive to grow and develop the business by identifying and driving new service offerings or operational efficiencies.
Performance Reporting:
Establish and execute a clear cadence of monitoring and reporting on project and operational performance. Utilize data to make robust, data-driven recommendations for process improvements, resource allocation, and program adjustments.
Candidate Requirements:
Sector-Specific Operations Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an Operations Management or Build/Program Management role, specifically within the full turn-key telecommunications services (e.g., Fibre-to-the-Premises/Home - FTTP/FTTH). Direct experience within a Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) tier 1 telecommunications or civil infrastructure business is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong and demonstrable understanding of the complete end-to-end telecommunications infrastructure lifecycle, including Network surveying, planning, and design, Civil Engineering (Civils) principles related to trenching, ducting, reinstatement, and road works compliance and Network Build and Commissioning

Industry Standards & Compliance:
In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety (HSEQ) standards, and local authority requirements for telecommunications and civil works.
Strategic Leadership:
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate multi-disciplinary teams including internal staff, sub-contractors, and site supervisors to achieve high performance and operational targets. Demonstrated success in effective delegation and sound, decisive leadership.
Commercial Awareness:
Exceptional commercial understanding with documented experience in managing Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and project contracts, procurement processes and effective sub-contractor management, budget control, financial forecasting, and managing P&L for operational programs.
Process Improvement:
Proven track record of continuously assessing, designing, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate service delivery timelines.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence and gravitas to effectively interact, negotiate, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders, including the client's senior management, local authorities, and site crews.
Problem-Solving & Risk Mitigation:
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively Identify blockades, risks, and dependencies, and implement creative, efficient, and sustainable solutions under pressure.
