We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented Building Control professional to join our team in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service within the framework of the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations 2010, and the Building (Registered Building Control Approvers, etc.) (England) Regulations 2024. This role offers the opportunity to apply technical and legal expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects, including elements of major developments, ensuring compliance through thorough plan assessments and site inspections. You will play a key role in maintaining high performance standards, supporting continuous improvement under our ISO 9001 Quality Management system, and contributing to the effective reporting and operation of the wider Building Control service.
Reviewing and assessing submitted plans in a timely manner to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards.
Conducting timely on-site inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards.
Assessing the need for, and carrying out, a range of statutory and non-statutory consultations necessary for project progression.
Evaluating overall compliance with Building Regulations, including issuing appropriate documentation or taking necessary actions when standards are not met.
Operating in accordance with all RBCA, RBI registration requirements, and other relevant professional obligations.
Maintaining and developing personal competence (SKEB) in relevant subject areas to achieve and/or retain necessary registration.
Supporting the development and maintenance of competencies in other team members, particularly those in junior roles.
Must be a Registered Building Inspector at Class 2E, 2F, or 3 (In the case of Class 2E/2F, a commitment to achieving Class 3 in an appropriate period)
