Building Fabric Engineer

The Portland Hospital, London

Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1700). Flexibility will be required depending on business needs

We're looking for a Building Fabric Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Portland Hospital. This role is vital in providing a first-class building maintenance service to the hospital, within the confines of the individual's building maintenance experience.

What you'll do:

Proficient at painting decorating, carpentry, tiling, plastering, assisting electrical and mechanical engineers First fix repairs to general hospital fabric fittings (e.g. furniture, wall paper, paint work, lockers, windows etc) Undertaking other tasks as may be issued by the Chief Engineer To respond to maintenance requests via the Engineering Central To prioritize maintenance requests and carry out tasks in a logical and efficient manner To supervise external contractors as directed by the Chief Engineer To advise the Chief Engineer on problems as they occur

What you'll bring:

NVQ, City and Guilds or equivalent qualifications in relevant trades like carpentry, joinery or plastering Experience in a facilities management or building trades environment is highly desirable Good general knowledge and understanding of all disciplines within building services Excellent communication skills
