2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

We are seeking an experienced Building Manager to join our team at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, high quality environment that supports outstanding patient care. You will lead the maintenance and development of the building fabric, grounds, and gardens, managing a team of building technicians and external contractors to ensure compliance, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the estate.
Based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital with regular travel to Dover Buckland Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead on day to day operations and planning for the estate, including asbestos and fire safety management in accordance with current regulations. Ensure effective delivery of maintenance and refurbishment services aligned with health, safety, and clinical needs. Maintain and develop the Site Building Condition Survey Report, and manage backlog maintenance priorities in line with strategic plans. Manage and supervise in house teams and external contractors, ensuring quality workmanship, value for money, and adherence to statutory requirements. Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, and external bodies. Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, in compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance. Contribute to procurement quality assurance and ensure adherence to Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.

About You:



Degree in Building Surveying or an equivalent discipline. Professional membership in a recognised building related body. Minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience in both maintenance and refurbishment. Demonstrable experience in managing teams and building related projects. Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and relevant statutory requirements. Proficiency in project planning, estimating techniques, and IT systems including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and survey tools. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate across a diverse stakeholder group.

Desirables:



Experience within a healthcare or hospital environment. Working knowledge of HTM/HBN standards and ME services. Health & Safety qualification.

Additional Information:



This role involves working across a range of environments, including plant rooms, confined spaces, and external areas. Candidates should be comfortable working at height, in noisy or dusty conditions, and undertaking occasional lone working or manual handling duties.
