About the Role



Are you passionate about maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment? Join our team as a Building Services Officer (BSO) and play a crucial role in ensuring the proper maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our College facilities.

As a BSO, you will work alongside colleagues to undertake maintenance, repair, security, and groundskeeping tasks, contributing to the overall well-being of our facility and its occupants.

This role offers a dynamic work environment across various campuses, with responsibilities including janitorial duties, statutory compliance, security, and performance reporting. Key Responsibilities





Act as a key holder and manage building access Perform routine inspections and security checks Operate and monitor fire and intruder alarm systems Conduct compliance testing (e.g. emergency lighting, fire extinguishers) Support reception areas and manage deliveries Carry out basic maintenance and janitorial tasks Assist with audits and inter-site deliveries Work alongside contractors on major projects

What We're Looking For



Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

SIA training/qualification/licence Health & Safety awareness NVQ Level 2 in a maintenance-related trade Experience in facilities management, ideally in an educational setting Familiarity with CCTV systems and incident management

Skills & Attributes:

Strong communication and organisational skills Competent in using helpdesk and electronic systems Excellent customer service High standards, accountability, and integrity Ability to work independently and as part of a team
