Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Building Compliance Surveyor to join our Property Inspection Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting property inspections in compliance with the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019 (ROI), Building Control Regulations, and other relevant statutory requirements in the Republic of Ireland. This role involves ensuring that rental properties meet all legal safety, structural, and sanitary standards while effectively managing relationships with property owners, landlords, and tenants. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently with a high degree of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
. Plan, schedule, and conduct property inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
. Notify landlords and tenants of upcoming inspections with appropriate notice periods.
.Utilise electronic devices and digital systems to document inspection findings, including photographs and digital signatures.
. Assess properties to verify compliance with the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019.
. Immediately report any urgent safety issues identified during inspections.
. Communicate inspection outcomes to landlords/agents, providing clear instructions for any required remedial actions.
. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, reports, and compliance status.
. Handle disputes and complaints professionally, maintaining strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders.
. Support legal proceedings by providing documentation and attending court, if required.
Qualifications:
BA Building Surveying and/or proven experience in property inspection, property management, or building safety compliance.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using electronic devices and digital inspection systems.
Knowledge of GDPR and experience handling confidential data.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region of Dublin.
