To provide high quality engineering maintenance support to production or the site services team. The post holder will be responsible for their own machine or work area and tools ensuring productivity and throughputs are met. The post holder will need to be flexible and use a variety of skills, understanding safety requirements and be able to handle non routine situations which may arise. Will need to report problems and keep work area tidy and free from hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, changeover, operate machinery, other equipment and tools in the area within standard operating procedures to achieve required outputs and quality
Carry out a range of manual tasks and activities and ensure all tasks are finished within permitted time frames
Check and monitor processes making recommendations for any adjustments necessary to achieve process specification
Production efficiency and engineering downtime
Completion of PPM while adhering schedules
Complete daily engineering work report sheets
Run and understand various reports mechanical guidance sheets as required
Clean and tidy work areas so that hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained and undertake straightforward hygiene tasks
Reports faults so they can be put right quickly to keep downtime to a minimum

Work alongside skilled engineers / electrical engineers
Help solve problems and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented
To work as part of a team and operate more complex machinery and equipment
To perform engineering functions within capability or area of expertise directed by the skilled engineers
The job holder has a responsibility to create a culture of awareness of, and commitment to the highest standards of quality & food safety and as such they must lead by example
The job holder is responsible for actively encouraging all staff to immediately report any quality or food safety issues, assign reward for doing so (using the STAR Award process) and must be seen to take visible action and give feedback to the reporter on actions taken to address the raised issue.
