About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Fabricator to join our aluminium door and window manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop practical skills in the fabrication of aluminium glazing systems for commercial projects such as offices, schools, retail units, and industrial buildings.

As a trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced fabricators and supervisors, learning every stage of the production process, from reading technical drawings to assembling, cutting, and preparing aluminium profiles and components.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the fabrication and assembly of commercial aluminium doors, windows, curtain walling, and shopfront systems.

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, job sheets, and production schedules.

Learn to cut, drill, punch, and prepare aluminium profiles using machinery and hand tools.

Support senior fabricators in fitting hardware, gaskets, and glazing units.

Maintain accurate records of materials and work completed.

Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.

Assist in quality checking finished products to ensure they meet company and client specifications.

Participate in ongoing training and skills development.

Ability to work accurately with measurements and hand tools.

Good practical, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.

Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.

Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

Basic secondary education (GCSEs or equivalent).

Strong interest in learning a trade in the aluminium fabrication industry.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or construction environment.

Basic understanding of technical drawings or CAD layouts.

Forklift or machinery operation experience (training can be provided).
