We are looking for experienced and professional PCV drivers for full time work at our Fort William Depot. We require drivers for a range of services including Local Bus, Citylink and Private Hire duties. Good Rate of Pay for suitable candidates of 15.20ph plus benefits including pension contributions, increased holidays based upon length of service, discounted gym membership, Sage employee benefits package.

Position summary
In this role the post holder:
A key member of the frontline team delivering the highest levels of customer service for the people who use our services.
A bus driver is responsible for transporting passengers from one place to another. The key priorities for a bus driver are the safety and the comfort of their passengers throughout the journey. In this role, a bus driver will drive through local routes and make stops to pick up and drop off passengers according to a planned schedule.
Actively works alongside and liaises with the rest of the management team to ensure the business success and resilience throughout both on and off season.

Position specification
Level & Type of Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:
Be always aware of and respect traffic laws as you go about your duties.
Pick up and drop off passengers based on the set schedule and planned route (this might be in accordance with a registered timetable or a planned itinerary).
Always ensure the highest levels of safety to ensure to keep you, your customers, other employees, and other road users safe.
Undertake driver's vehicle checks when identified on your duty consistently to the highest standards.
Promptly report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, and accidents to the company at the earliest opportunity.
Always communicate to passengers any delays or planned route changes for them to be best informed.
Be prepared to assist any passengers having difficulty getting on or off the bus and have requested your support.
Collecting fares, check tickets for validity, and providing information to customers as needed.
Timetable adherence- make all reasonable effort to maintain the timetable set out so your bus reaches stopping points on time.
Vehicle familiarisation - Ensure you are both comfortable and familiar with buses/coaches and their operation before use.
Ensure that you are both comfortable and familiar with, all ticket types, concession card use and guidelines, zones, smart cards and properly use of Duty numbers and Driver Log On ticket machines.
Ensure that you are both comfortable and familiar with Wheelchair equipment and can deploy it as and when required.
Ensure that that you are both comfortable and familiar in both domestic and EU hours unless they solely work in one aspect of that driving.
Good geographical knowledge of the route (this comes with training)
Be aware of and in full compliance with company policy and procedures.
Maintain the cleanliness of the bus and be prepared to undertake cleaning duties of your vehicle.
Be prepared to refuel vehicles as and when required.
Attend relevant training courses as identified and agreed. This might be professional competence training or ad hoc company training.
Be willing to meet any other reasonable requests commensurate with your grade.
Personal requirements
As a minimum you must have a current driving licence and no more than 6 points on your licence.
Pleasant approachable personality
Good levels of alertness.
Good levels of hand-eye coordination.
Flexibility and reliability are important for the role.
Confidentiality- You will be interacting with business sensitive information throughout the day. It is a requirement to ensure that this is kept private. This includes not discussing this with other drivers, family, or any person with an interest in our business operations.
