Waterside Training is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a
Business Administrator
. In this key role, you will help ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day operations while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will work across a variety of departments including customer service, reception, finance, and human resources developing valuable skills and contributing to the success of our business.
You will assist the Technical Sales Executive, HR Manager and Apprenticeship Manager with day-to-day administration tasks such as;
Front-of-House Excellence;
toprovide a warm and professional welcome to all visitors, while confidently managing incoming calls and emails to ensure a smooth and positive front-of-house experience.
Administrative Support Across Teams;
support the daily office operations by managing documents, maintaining accurate CRM records, and completing a variety of administrative tasks such as scanning, photocopying, and data entry. You will use Microsoft Office and CRM systems to carry out a wide range of activities that keep the business running smoothly.
Course Coordination;
support the Technical Sales Executive to manage course bookings, respond to enquiries, and coordinate all aspects of course delivery from planning and setup to evaluation. You will also ensure delegates and visitors are well looked after by organising refreshments and preparing course materials as needed.
Apprenticeship Administration;
provide essential support to the Apprenticeship Manager by tracking attendance, maintaining accurate CRM records, coordinating recruitment activities, scheduling interviews and tests, and managing communications with candidates and employers on a variety of apprenticeship events throughout the year.
Finance & HR Assistance;
work closely with the HR Manager to support payroll processing, manage purchase orders, generate and issue sales invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Meeting & Diary Management;
take ownership of organising structured meetings by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and ensuring timely follow-up on action points. You'll play a key role in ensuring meetings run smoothly and contribute to effective team collaboration.
Event Support;
represent Waterside Training at open evenings, career fairs, and celebratory events throughout the year, supporting the planning and smooth delivery of all organisational events.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will provide office cover between the hours of 8am to 4pm and bring strong administrative, communication, and organisational skills, with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office. You'll be a self-motivated team player who can think on your feet, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and take a proactive approach to supporting the wider team who is;
Highly organised and detail-oriented
A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
A team player with a proactive and flexible approach
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital systems
Professional, personable, and eager to learn
Qualifications
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades 5-9 or A-C) -
essential
A qualification in Business Administration or Business Studies or equivalent A Levels in English or Business -
desirable
