We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analysis & Change Services Lead (Grade 12) to join our Business Analysis & Change Practice team within our Technology Department on a permanent basis.

Team Overview:





The Business Analysis and Change Practice team sits within the Technology directorate and delivers services to support the change lifecycle from discovery, design and implementation. The practice:

Supports the implementation of change to ensure adoption, utilisation and value realisation through impact assessment of change and input into the design and delivery of change interventions. Provides a pool of Business Analysis resources for complex changes to business processes and IT solutions; Operate a BA Community of Practice which defines, maintains and embeds a framework for best practice in business analysis; Ensures the quality of requirements produced meets Elexon's business needs with a focus on minimising defects and change requests late in the delivery lifecycle Ensures that impacts of change are understood and managed through documented processes, training and communication

Job Purpose:



To ensure Business Analysts have the right tools and processes where they are responsible for creating shared understanding for successful initiatives, e.g. by supporting the creation of investment cases, defining the problem/opportunity and defining and documenting business change impacts to support business change activities. To lead and guide Business analysts to generate the required analysis artefacts and deliverables as required by the methodology (e.g. Agile, waterfall or hybrid methodologies). This may include business requirements documentation, functional specifications, epics, features and user stories, process maps, business rules, entity relationship diagrams. To be the initial contact point for discovery phases of Industry Change to ensure the right allocation of BA resources can be scheduled. To act as an initial point of contact for programmes too support the shaping of resource profiles for Business Analysts and Business Change Managers To act on feedback from Product Teams, Customer Directorate and Architecture colleagues to improve the BA and business change capabilities where requested and to ensure the services evolve to support the business' needs. Provide an environment for Business Analysts to develop and learn a range of techniques to analyse and deliver communications for clear summarised business problems, benefit statements through business requirements and detailed requirements. To act as a point of reference providing thought leadership for business change methodologies. To support portfolio overseeing volume and nature of change to advise on additional business change capability needs To operate an environment for agreed standards and methods are applied, within Elexon and with Suppliers to ensure consistency, re-use, scalability and alignment of change artefacts across products, programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities:





Collaborate with team members (internal or from service providers) to ensure that requirements are captured to a high quality and that the end solution meets the business outcomes. Help communicate the business impact of collective initiatives to support Executives having a capability to advise on company changes over a period of time and aligning with the Portfolio practice.. Identify and engage appropriately with all stakeholders, including industry stakeholders where relevant. Develop BA Practice capability by applying, sharing and embedding best practice, creating templates, embedding techniques. Develop a baseline Business Change capability across Elexon Apply standards and methods to ensure consistency, re-use, scalability and alignment of requirements and change artefacts across the portfolio. Ensure requirements and solutions are aligned with Elexon's enterprise architecture principles and target architectures. Ensure change impacts are documented by Business Analysts to the requisite standard and support development of appropriate change plans. Be proactive and propose outcomes and standards which improve the services Lead Elexon's Business Analysis and Change Community of Practice Participate in department or cross-company initiatives, facilitating workshops and sessions as required. Lead the modification, review and development of team processes and procedures. Operate a method to manage and monitor the maturity of the Business Analysis and Change Practice. Lead Elexon's Change Network, with the aim of sharing and embedding best practice in Elexon. Continuously improve Elexon's Business Analysis framework Provide Coaching and Mentoring to the team as required

Personal Responsibilities





Take responsibility for defining team objectives and personal development plans and follow through on agreed actions. Monitor internal and external best practice through effective use of information sources such as networking, conferences, industry groups and expert advice. Highlight appropriate issues or risks which are not being mitigated or are of significant exposure to the Head of Portfolio Delivery Services. Provide line management for the Senior Business Analysts within the Practice
