Summary



We are seeking an experienced buisness and Accounts Manager to join our team at The Sun Inn in Coniston. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to our financial and buisness operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing accounts. They will also be responsible for all aspects of running the buisness, including staff management, legislation, training, programming booking software and any other job required to run a small buisness. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our mission of providing outstanding service and quality.

Responsibilities



Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero for accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes. Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation. Maintain organized financial records for easy access. Run a weekly payroll. Programme and manage booking systems for the hotel. Including rates, special offers and other channels such as Expedia. Staff management including training and disciplinary procedures. Cashing up tills and other day to day financial matters, e.g. banking. Organise maintenance and purchase, of all equipment/ Fire systems/ heating/IT, etc Organise new contracts being mindful of the economic cost. E-mail correspondence. Keep up to date with all current business legislation and take action where necessary. Deal with customer complaints, requests, discrepancies etc. in a timely manner. Provide excellent customer service even under difficult circumstances. Project management and the ability to deal with a crisis. Be willing to carry out any job that is required to run a small business. Problem solve. Provide support and guidance for the proprietors and staff.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) is essential. Strong understanding of accounting and business principles and practices. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively. Calm in a crisis
