Overview:


We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Data Analyst to join our Group Data Office (GDO) Team at Royal London. The Business Data Analyst is a key role in the delivery of change in GDO. The Business Data Analyst role insists on the highest standards of data quality, accuracy and is responsible for the collection, mapping, analysis and curation of information and requirements to support the decision-making process for creation and extension of data systems within Royal London. This includes, but is not limited to, working closely with system SMEs to understand data structures, data dictionaries, and mappings to create reusable documentation artefacts to support delivery of change within Engineering teams.



The Business Data Analyst performs value-chain mapping of data, interprets system performance data, agile team performance data, and financial data for determining ROI. The Business Data Analyst turns content into strategic information in business-oriented optimisation work. It is essential that the Business Data Analyst also understands the processes, the market, and how to use data to put Royal London in the best position against its competitors.

About the role:



To provide internal analysis on a range of topics Source to target data optimisation, sequencing, and phasing of data sourcing to Enterprise Data Model (EDM) Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimisation strategies Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements Supporting user acceptance testing Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

About you:



Practical understanding of what it means to be data-driven in decision making Demonstrable experience of working on complex data programs with high level of interdependencies, preferably in financial services Agile methodology and a 'shift left' approach Practical understanding of full software development lifecycle Excellent numerical, analytical reasoning skills and competent in at least two of the following: Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Excel, Azure Synapse, Databricks Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills Ability to interrogate data and make pragmatic recommendations that can be elicited into requirements Ability to focus on priorities and deliverables, delivery to fixed dates and to work under pressure Able to manage own workload and work of others Good stakeholder skills, able to effectively listen, communicate, challenge and influence immediate peer group and senior managers.
