The Role
We're looking for a proactive, well-connected
Business Developer
to lead our outreach to key industry partners. You will be responsible for acquiring merchants for our network, liaising with the finance team on managing partnerships with the lenders whose products we offer, and engaging with other institutions who may be interested in our services, such as insurance companies and law firms.
You will also play a role in shaping financial and software products by helping ensure that we meet the needs of our partners and clients.
This role suits someone with deep experience in the fine art, collectibles, or luxury sectors, who is also comfortable discussing regulated financial products.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage decision-makers at partner organizations to explore collaboration opportunities.
Tailor outreach strategies for each prospect, whether through cold calls, in-person meetings, events, or site visits.
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closing, with support from our management team.
Maintain and prioritize a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Collect and analyse product feedback from partners and collectors.
Track key commercial and operational metrics and prepare performance reports.
Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities and inform product differentiation.
Support the evolution of our loan products by recommending actionable product improvements and strategic initiatives.
Attend relevant events in the arts, collectibles, finance, and related sectors.
Assist with the organization of events, webinars, and industry conferences.
Support the development of marketing strategies to increase our reach and strengthen our brand.
Contribute to the creation of marketing content such as newsletters and social media posts.
Understand and operate within the regulatory framework set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Degree in Business, Economics, Art Business, or a related field.
Experience in sales, business development, or partnerships.
Experience working in an auction house, gallery, dealer or marketplace that specialises in fine art, collectibles or luxury goods.
Comfortable working within financial services or regulated environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, or Salesforce.
Desirable
Experience in financial services.
Experience creating marketing content.
An interest in cutting-edge technology, particularly fintech.
