Eddistone Consulting Ltd is seeking to recruit a motivated business development assistant to join the company, initially as a part time employee. Eddistone has a growing portfolio of private sector customers, mainly in high-hazard, high risk and high-reliability sectors and we are looking for an assistant to grow the company's commercial resilience and to help promote Eddistone. This role is vital to supporting Eddistone's growth.

What you will be doing
Working for the Managing Director you will focus on two elements, which will help support business growth, these are;
1) Support the MD by assisting to coordinate and create clear and accurate commercial proposals
2) Help to plan and deliver marketing activity to drive sales to existing and new customers. You will contribute to the overarching plan and then coordinate and help to execute it
The role is a probationary period for 6 months. This is a part-time role (see 'What we can offer you')
Your working tasks will include;
Understanding the core business and our customer drivers
Learn and maintaining detailed knowledge about the customer and product portfolio
Maintain our customer database
Creating and share content to attract new customers
Track and help to create accurate commercial proposals
Create and share engaging content to further develop existing relationships
Assess sales performance and make contributions for improvement
Maintain awareness of market trends and competitors
The following will be beneficial in this role
Effective communication skills
A recognisable level of business acumen, including commercial finance
Marketing experience using different channels, such as social media, advertising or email
A high degree of organisational and interpersonal skills with experience of working to deadlines
Experience of Microsoft office suite, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
Some knowledge of Wordpress, SEO, key words, Linked in
Experience of managing a dynamic network of existing and potential customers
It will be helpful to have
A relevant qualification or experience
Membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g., MCIM)

Starting at 2 days a week, we expect all of your time will be office based for the first period, while you learn the business. At a suitable point, there is opportunity to introduce hybrid working, although at least half of your time will be office based.
Salary is offered for the initial probationary period between 25.5k-30.5k (Pro rata) based on suitability.
