Job Title: Business Development Manager - Solar PV
Location: Orpington (Office-based)

Salary: 30-35k
Overview
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Business Development Manager to win, develop, and grow relationships with housing developers and housebuilders. This role focuses on selling Solar PV solutions and associated low-carbon technologies into newbuild residential projects. The successful candidate will take the lead on consultative, specification-led sales, supporting clients in meeting Building Regulations, planning conditions, and sustainability targets.
Key Responsibilities

• Identify, win, and grow new business opportunities with housing developers, housebuilders, and construction partners

• Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through to contract award

• Promote Solar PV and related low-carbon technologies into newbuild residential markets

• Provide consultative, technical guidance to clients on regulations, planning conditions, sustainability objectives, and viable system design options

• Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the construction and residential development sectors

• Develop client-specific proposals, specifications, and pricing packages

• Monitor market developments, industry changes, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities

• Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure smooth project handover

Skills & Experience

• Background in construction or residential development (essential)

• Understanding of Solar PV, low-carbon technologies, or renewable energy (advantageous; willingness to learn essential)

• Strong business development and client-facing skills, with experience building and maintaining long-term partnerships

• Consultative sales approach with the ability to support clients through specification and regulatory requirements

• Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand technical solutions and industry trends

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Highly proactive, self-motivated, and commercially focused
