Overview


We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Volunteer Business Development Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving growth within the organisation.

Purpose of the Role



To generate new employer partnerships and secure suitable job vacancies for participants on our employability and skills programmes. The Volunteer Business Development Consultant will proactively contact employers, identify hiring needs, promote our recruitment services, and ensure a consistent pipeline of job opportunities.

Key Responsibilities -

Employer Engagement & Vacancy Generation

Proactively contact employers by phone, email, LinkedIn, and face-to-face to promote our free recruitment service. Develop strong relationships with hiring managers, HR departments, and business owners. Secure job vacancies across a range of sectors suitable for programme participants. Conduct employer needs analysis and tailor recruitment support accordingly. Maintain an up-to-date database of employer contacts and opportunities.
Relationship Management

Provide excellent account management to employers from initial contact through to successful recruitment. Gather job descriptions, person specifications, and selection criteria. Liaise with internal recruitment/adviser teams to match candidates to roles. Arrange employer visits, recruitment days, interviews, or work trials.
Performance & Reporting

Work to KPIs including employer contacts, vacancies generated, and job starts. Track all interactions and outcomes in the CRM system (e.g., Cognisoft YETI, Hanlon). Provide regular reports to management on employer engagement activity and vacancy performance.
Promotion & Marketing

Represent the organisation at local business networking events, job fairs, and employer forums. Contribute to marketing campaigns aimed at employers (email, social media, case studies). Promote employer incentives such as government schemes or wage subsidies if applicable.

Skills & Experience Required



Essential:



Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Confident with cold calling and converting leads into employer partnerships. Target-driven and self-motivated with strong commercial awareness.

Desirable:



Experience in the employability, skills, or welfare-to-work sector. Understanding of DWP-funded programmes and the needs of job seekers with barriers. Knowledge of local labour market trends and employer networks.

Pay: 25,000.00-45,924.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 per week
