Job Summary


Nurture Care & Support is a CQC-registered provider offering high-quality supported-Accommodation and day-care services for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs across North and West London.

We work closely with NHS North West London ICB and several Local Authorities and are now expanding our supported-living provision to fill current vacancies and develop long-term referral pathways.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced

Business Development Consultant

with proven experience in adult social care, supported living, or health commissioning.
Your primary focus will be to identify referral pipelines, strengthen commissioner relationships, and position Nurture Care & Support as a trusted, go-to provider for complex placements.

Key Responsibilities



Engage with

local-authority brokerage and commissioning teams

(Brent, Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow, Hillingdon) and

NHS NWL ICB

to secure new referrals. Prepare and circulate

referral packs, service summaries, and rate proposals

. Support

tender registrations

and

DPS applications

(e.g., London Care Placements). Develop a short- and medium-term

referral pipeline strategy

. Advise management on market positioning, service rates, and partnership opportunities. Provide regular progress updates and introduce key decision-makers.

Experience



1.

Specialist Knowledge of Autism & Learning Disabilities

Understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and co-occurring conditions (e.g., sensory processing differences, communication needs, challenging behavior). Awareness of person-centered planning, supported living, and positive behavior support (PBS). Familiarity with how needs assessments are conducted under the

Care Act 2014

(UK) or equivalent local legislation. Sensitivity to accessibility, inclusion, and communication strategies.

Knowledge of Social Care, Health, and Commissioning Systems

Strong understanding of

how local authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)

, and NHS Continuing Healthcare referrals work. Knowledge of

funding pathways

(e.g., Section 117, personal budgets, direct payments). Existing relationships with Local Authority Commissioning Teams or NHS commissioners (North & West London ideal).

Stakeholder Management and Relationship-Building



Building relationships with:

Local authority commissioners and placement officers. Health and social care professionals. Families, advocates, and service users. Specialist care providers and housing partners. Diplomacy and negotiation skills to represent clients effectively and ethically. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Self-starter with ability to work independently and deliver measurable outcomes.

Commissioner & Stakeholder Relationship-Building



Ability to

network and build trust

with:

Local authority commissioners and placement officers NHS case managers and social workers Brokerage teams and referral managers Skill in

relationship mapping

-- identifying key decision-makers and influencers within regional systems. Diplomacy, credibility, and consistency in communication to strengthen long-term partnerships.
