Business Development Co-ordinator



Main Purpose



Genmed support the NHS by providing managed services which reduce costs, improve efficiency, and have a positive impact on the delivery of patient care. Genmed has a consistent track record of winning as evidenced by the exceptional growth of 700% over the last five years. We have over 200 contracts within 40 NHS Trusts across the UK.

The Business Development Coordinator provides key support across Genmed's commercial function, assisting in the delivery of supplier communications and relationships, tender submissions, brand awareness, CRM tracking, and commercial content activity.

This is a dynamic and varied role suited to a highly organised and proactive team player. You'll contribute to winning bids, support market engagement, building key supplier relationships, diary management and help the commercial function run smoothly as it grows.

Key Accountabilities



Tender & Bid coordination



Opportunity identification: monitoring Contracts Finder, OJEU, FTS, Sell to Wales and any other relevant procurement services to identify potential tender opportunities through various channels and platforms; working with Genmed colleagues to identify other non-advertised opportunities

Refer tender opportunities as per agreed processes and assist in the evaluation of the suitability and strategic fit of tender opportunities in line with the company's goals

Assist with the preparation, formatting and submission of tenders and proposals

Maintain the bid library and framework tracker with up-to-date information

Log tender outcomes and lessons

Coordinate internal contributors to gather tender inputs (Finance, Ops, Legal)

Working closely to support commercial department in tender and bid requirements as and when needed

Log new company achievements and development for the benefit of tender submission. i.e. contribution to social value, new technology etc.

Supplier and external coordination



Support the scheduling and organisation of supplier meetings

Prepare agendas, taking meeting notes, actions and following up with attendees both internally and externally

Maintain accurate supplier contacts and log engagement through CRM system

Develop and maintain good working relationships with key suppliers with emphasis on aligning tender needs to supplier offerings

Coordinate communication of any new supplier opportunities or contacts

Keep accurate log of supplier specialities for tenders

Marketing support



coordinate commercial content for social media, such as case studies, announcements, reports, internal news and 'wins'

Monitor company inboxes and social platforms for messages and flag as required

Report and support with the gathering of online activity to help with market intelligence i.e. from competitors, online news for new service requirements and suppliers

Provide necessary action log and data for monthly commercial meetings run by Commercial Manager

CRM and Commercial duties



Keep the CRM system updated with activity, supplier data, bid progress

Help prepare summaries and inputs for monthly commercial meetings and team meetings

Support with commercial communication and follow up on actions, or events taking place

Assist in the monitoring of yearly events, costs, agendas and review for decision making

Assist with new business projects, launches, as directed

Carry out research and competitor scanning to support awareness

Provide general coordination support to the Commercial manager and wider team

Support department KPIs ensure we always meet and achieve goals set out

Assist in targets set within the CRM system

Support with brand awareness activities

Assist in monitoring of company content i.e. updates to sales packs, online content for website

Where needed support any site visits to enhance tender requirements or company knowledge

Skills and Experience



Experience in support or coordination role

Understanding of public sector procurement is desirable

Strong organisational skills is essential

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Experience in public sector tendering and/or procurement

Experience of working with CRM system

Experience of working with social media platforms

Contacts, relationships and staff interaction



Working collaboratively with all departments and functions within Genmed

Working collaboratively with customers and suppliers

Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders involved in the tender process

People Management



This role currently has no direct reports.

Work Environment



This role is office based at Genmed House in Cwmbran NP44 3GA. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
