Business Development Executive (Agriculture)

Vickerstock are delighted to continue our highly successful relationship with an established business to support in the recruitment of a Business Development Executive on a permanent basis. The role will involve extensive travel both throughout Ireland and the UK.

The successful candidate will be required be on site in their Ballymena offices on a regular basis, therefore, close proximity to the office and a full driving licence is required.

The successful candidate will be a high-calibre Business Development Executive with a strong track record to take a lead on new business development for a successful product within the Agricultural Sales Team.

You\'ll pro-actively target and engage new customers and leverage partner relationships to generate opportunities.

Your new role as a Business Development Executive

  • To identify business opportunities and convert these to orders to achieve the Company\'s Targets.
  • Liaise with the Agriculture Sales Manager and Head of Sales with a technically minded approach to develop regionalised sales strategies for standard products (Agri)
  • Deal with inbound customer enquiries and covert to orders.
  • Ensure enquiries are priced accurately and responded to within in the agreed timeframe.
  • Maintaining and updating records on the company\'s systems
  • Weekly reporting on Sales Activity, including visit reports.
  • Relevant administration tasks including order processing.
  • Liaise with internal departments as required, including Production Planning, Production, Finance, Marketing, Quality, Technical and Despatch to ensure that customer requirements are effectively communicated.
  • Attend exhibitions/trade shows, arrange, and attend customer meetings/site visits including farms and merchants and other company events as required.
What you\'ll need to succeed as Business Development Executive:
  • A proven track history in business development and/or field-based sales
  • Full Clean driving licence
  • Driven individual with a strong interest in the agricultural industry
  • Possess the drive and enthusiasm necessary to deliver business growth targets, be results orientated.
  • Be creative, innovative and passionate in your approach to driving sales.
  • Excellent influencing, communication and strong negotiation skills with an ability to demonstrate appropriate business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • There will be extensive travel with this position throughout UK and Ireland
