Black Sheep Support are seeking a proactive and professional
Business Development Executive
to join our growing team.
Do you enjoy connecting with people, building rapport quickly, and generating interest in valuable services? Are you confident speaking to businesses, following structured frameworks, and adapting your communication to suit your audience? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
This is an exciting role that offers room to grow, develop, and learn whilst offering the opportunity to impact in shaping and driving the growth of our business. The focus of this position initially is to generate new business leads, initiate meaningful conversations with potential clients, and create opportunities for the wider team to develop into long-term partnerships.
As you become confident in the role, build product knowledge, and gain a strong understanding of our offering and audience, there may be opportunities to become more involved in the sales process - including progressing leads further through the pipeline and eventually closing business where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation:
Proactively identify, contact, and qualify new business prospects via cold calling, email outreach, networking activity, and referrals.
Scripted Outreach:
Follow a structured calling script to support lead generation, while adapting delivery to sound natural, confident, and conversational.
Prospect Engagement:
Initiate discussions with decision makers to understand their IT challenges and position our services as potential solutions.
Market Awareness:
Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure smooth handover of warm leads.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
Accurately log outreach activity, prospect interactions, and progress updates in CRM systems.
Key Skills & Attributes
Experience in lead generation, telesales, or business development (ideally within IT/technology).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Confident in following a script while maintaining a natural, engaging tone.
Motivated by activity-based targets and achieving KPIs.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads and priorities.
Resilient, confident cold-calling, and comfortable handling objections.
A collaborative team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
Technical understanding of IT services is beneficial, but not essential - willingness to learn is key.
