Job Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Snap Fitness Eltham High Street club. This encompasses driving membership sales and retention, ensuring exceptional member experience, leading and developing a high-performing team, managing the club's financial performance, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self starter, results-oriented leader with a passion for fitness and a proven track record in gym management or a similar customer-centric industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed membership targets.
Lead the team in generating leads, conducting tours, and closing sales.
Oversee local marketing initiatives, including social media engagement, community outreach, and promotional events.
Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to enhance the club's competitive edge.
Member Experience and Retention:
Cultivate a welcoming and supportive environment for all members.
Ensure high levels of member satisfaction by proactively addressing feedback and resolving issues promptly.
Develop and implement strategies to improve member retention and reduce attrition.
Foster a strong sense of community within the club.
Team Leadership and Development:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of fitness professionals and support staff.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
Motivate and inspire the team to achieve individual and club goals.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Schedule staff effectively to ensure adequate club coverage.
Financial Management:
Manage the club's budget and expenses effectively.
Monitor key financial indicators and take action to improve profitability.
Ensure accurate processing of payments and adherence to financial procedures.
Prepare regular financial reports for the [Regional Manager/Franchise Owner].
Club Operations and Maintenance:
Ensure the club is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs.
Adhere to all Snap Fitness brand standards and operational procedures.
Manage inventory of supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Reporting and Communication:
Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the [Regional Manager/Franchise Owner].
Maintain effective communication with the team, members, and the [Regional Manager/Franchise Owner].
Attend regular meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in gym management or a similar role within the fitness, leisure, or retail industry.

Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Solid understanding of financial management and budgeting.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
