We are seeking a dynamic and strategic

Business Development Lead

to lead our growth initiatives and expand our market presence. This role has the potential to grow in to the Sales Director Role (with Equity Ownership) of the company based on the contribution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies, fostering key client relationships, and identifying new opportunities to drive revenue. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in Software-As-A-Service sales, and leadership to make a significant impact within our organisation.

Duties



We're seeking a

Business Development Lead

who can open doors, build relationships, and shape our sales strategy. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in startup environments.

You'll work directly with the founders to:

Identify and engage potential B2B clients across manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Develop and manage a sales pipeline using a structured CRM approach. Deliver compelling product demos and tailor proposals to client needs. Support bids, partnerships, and grant-funded opportunities. Gather market insights and help refine our value proposition and pricing model. Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organisational goals. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market analysis and networking. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients whilst expanding the client base through targeted outreach. Lead negotiations and close deals with potential partners and clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to optimise outreach efforts and maximise revenue streams. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic planning. Prepare detailed reports on business development activities, outcomes, and future strategies for senior management.

Skills



Strong background in B2B sales with demonstrated success in securing high-value contracts in Software-As-A-Service solutions. Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data, sales metrics, and customer insights. Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinker with strong organisational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly. This role is ideal for a proactive professional eager to drive growth initiatives within a forward-thinking organisation. Candidates should possess a blend of strategic insight, operational expertise, and leadership capability to succeed in this challenging position.

Essential



3+ years of experience in B2B tech sales or business development (SaaS, IoT, or Industrial Tech preferred). Proven ability to convert leads into paying customers. Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Entrepreneurial mindset -- you're resourceful, adaptable, and outcome-focused.

Desirable:



Experience selling into manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Understanding of digital transformation, AI, or asset management platforms. Comfortable working with founders in a lean, fast-moving environment.

Pay: 30,949.33-51,186.92 per year
