Business Development Manager | Facilities Management
Location: Midlands (Remote with UK-wide travel)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to 47,500 + Company Vehicle OR 4,500 car allowance

You'll be at the heart of commercial growth, building new client pipelines, presenting innovative solutions, and forging partnerships that stick. As a trusted ambassador of Mears FM, you'll connect internal expertise with external opportunity - delivering strategies that reflect market trends, government priorities, and community expectations.
Key Criteria:
External Engagement & Opportunity BuildingBuild trusted relationships across local authorities, government departments, NHS estates, education, and blue-light services
Identify and secure new FM opportunities that align with client needs and social value commitments
Represent Mears FM at sector events, pitch sessions, and competitive dialogue interviews
Strategic Growth & SustainabilityShape and execute the FM growth strategy, collaborating with senior leadership and bid teams
Craft tailored, sustainable solutions for clients that balance commercial viability and long-term impact
Contribute to the development of ESG-led service models and social mobility initiatives
Internal Collaboration & InnovationWork cross-functionally with Customer Success, Marketing, Finance, and IT teams
Lead knowledge-sharing with operational managers to uncover organic growth opportunities
Support mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring they land with confidence and alignment
Pipeline & Proposal DevelopmentDevelop a robust, insight-driven business pipeline, tracking leads from initial contact to contract award
Deliver high-quality proposals and presentations, backed by strategic insight and client understanding
Collaborate with the Bid Manager to build persuasive PQQs, ITTs, and case studies
What You BringProven success in business development or sales - within Facilities Management or public services
Exceptional client communication and pitch presentation skills
Strong understanding of public sector procurement and FM service delivery models
Commercial awareness paired with a strategic, solution-driven mindset
Ability to lead conversations that turn insight into opportunity
Full UK driving licence - this role requires frequent travel across the UK, with a company vehicle provided
You'll need to be driven, confident, and personable - with the initiative to propel our business forward
