This is not a traditional sales role. The focus is on early engagement, pipeline development, framework positioning, and professional relationship management across local authorities, housing associations, and the architects, surveyors, managing agents and consultants who specify, oversee, and influence public-sector works.
The role will also help coordinate marketing activity and accreditation strategy, ensuring our business presents a clear, credible offer aligned to upcoming opportunities. The position is in person, working closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and our part-time Marketing Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, track, and shape
public-sector and consultant-led opportunities
, including frameworks, DPSs, and grant-funded programmes
Maintain a 12-24 month forward pipeline aligned to capacity and strategic priorities
Lead or support
framework and DPS applications, renewals, and variations
Build and maintain professional relationships with:
Local authority and housing association teams
Architects, employers' agents, managing agents, surveyors, and consultant teams
Funding bodies and delivery partners
Engage in early-stage discussions, market engagement events, design team meetings, and professional forums
Coordinate with our Marketing Officer to ensure website content and case studies align with priority sectors, clients, and professional audiences
Identify and help coordinate accreditations, memberships, and professional registrations that support procurement, consultant confidence, and future BD activity
Support bid teams with client and consultant insight, opportunity shaping, and strategic input
About You
You will have experience in business development, frameworks, or pre-construction within construction, housing, or a
public-sector or consultant-led delivery environment
. You'll be comfortable engaging with a wide range of professional stakeholders and understand how public-sector procurement works in practice.
Essential:
Experience within construction or a related public-sector environment
Understanding of public-sector procurement and framework delivery
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Organised, commercially aware, and strategic in approach
Desirable:
Experience working with
architects, managing agents, employers' agents, or surveyors
Exposure to grant-funded or regulated delivery environments
Experience coordinating accreditations or framework submissions
