Business Development Manager

Brent Cross Station, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We're March Construction: a small but growing team building high-end residential and commercial projects across London and beyond.

We care about good work, clear communication, and people who do what they say they will.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager who shares that mindset someone who wants to be part of building something properly, not just chasing leads and ticking boxes.

Our projects are the type that rely on trust, detail, and strong relationships. We don't chase volume or undercut to win work we'd rather take time to build genuine connections with clients who value quality.

This role's about consistency and ownership. You'll help bring structure to how new work comes in, strengthen existing relationships, and open the right doors for the future. It's for someone who understands that business development isn't about being the loudest in the room it's about being reliable, informed, and the person people want to work with again.

What you'll be doing

Take ownership of how new business comes into the company planning, tracking, and nurturing opportunities across high-end residential and commercial projects.

Build and maintain relationships with architects, developers, and clients who already know our work. Reconnect with previous contacts and keep in touch with projects that fit March's standards. Spot new opportunities in London and surrounding areas, where the company we are growing our presence. Keep an eye on the market tenders, design stages, and early conversations that lead to meaningful projects. Work closely with the team to align pipeline, forecasting, and resources. Help shape how we present March to clients; clear, professional, and true to how we actually work. Build consistency into the process: recording leads, following up, and closing new clients. Stay involved through each stage, ensuring we deliver what was promised and build on every success. Bring ideas to improve how we communicate, follow up, and win work -- if there's a better way, you'll have the freedom to say so.
You'll be based mainly in the North London office (near Brent Cross West Station) with regular travel to meet clients, architects, and partners across the South East and Cambridgeshire.

Who you are

This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people and joining the dots between opportunity and delivery. You understand construction but are eager to learn more, you're not for the jargon, but because you like seeing how things are built and where value comes from.

You'll fit in here if you:

Like taking ownership and making things happen. Can balance being personable with being professional. Know how to listen and spot opportunities without overselling. Enjoy creating order and clarity turning "we should do something about that" into "done." Are motivated by doing work you're proud of, not just hitting a target. You want to join a team that's professional, supportive and all pulling in the same direction.
This isn't a corporate sales role. It's a long-term position for someone who wants to build relationships and grow with our business.

About March Construction

We care about the detail how things fit together, how they're built, and how they last. "High-end" doesn't just mean surface level; it means the details line up and what's underneath looks as good as what's on top.

That mindset runs through everything here, from the drawings and systems to the coffee in the office. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly.

The team's experienced, straight-talking, and good at what they do. There's real momentum behind us refining how we work, improving systems, and raising standards as we grow.

We invest time in our people making sure the right support, communication, and setup are in place so everyone can do their best work. When one person gets better, the whole team does and we're growing carefully, finding the right people to grow with us, matters more than filling seats.

If you've ever watched a Formula 1 team and thought that's how construction should run (calm, precise, and everyone knowing their role) you'll probably fit right in here.

It's a great time to join us. The company's improving its systems, expanding its client base, and laying the groundwork for growth in new areas. There's space for initiative, ideas, and someone who can help shape what "Business Development" means for March.
