Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and expanding our market presence. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is reliable, committed, hardworking, and eager to be a part of a supportive workplace. A proactive professional will contribute to strategic growth initiatives and drive revenue generation through innovative sales strategies and market analysis. They will support the company's target to reach a 2 million annual turnover and 10,000 pallets per week within four years.

The ideal applicant will possess strong communication and negotiation skills, a keen understanding of industry trends, experience within the pallet, logistics or manufacturing sector and manage customer accounts effectively. Experience and a full UK driving license is required. The applicant will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment and should be willing to travel regionally.

Key Responsibilities



Identifying & Develop New Business:

Proactively seek out new sales opportunities, partnerships, and market segments across East Anglia and the wider UK pallet industry.

Account Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring service excellence and repeat business.

Sales Strategy & Targets:

Contribute to and deliver the company's sales strategy, ensuring progress toward our 2 million revenue target and weekly pallet sales goals.

Market Research:

Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth and improvement.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

Work closely with operations, transport, and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and profitably.

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

Prepare regular performance reports, forecasts, and sales analysis for management review.

Brand Development:

Represent Anglia Pallets at trade events, networking opportunities, and customer meetings, promoting our values and reputation.

Skills



Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, ideally within the pallet, logistics or manufacturing sector Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights Self-motivated with a proactive approach towards achieving targets Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and manage customer accounts effectively Commercial awareness with a focus on profit margins and growth targets
