Role Overview



We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead sales of our diverse product range, including EV charging infrastructure, energy storage systems, and smart energy management solutions. This role is pivotal in expanding our market presence across the UK and beyond, targeting sectors such as commercial fleets, property developers, government entities, and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive sales professional with a passion for sustainable technology, capable of identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and closing high-value deals to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and execute business development strategies to promote and sell ZPN Energy's products, including rapid EV chargers, battery storage, and integrated energy management systems. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation, focusing on key sectors like transportation, real estate, and utilities. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, delivering consultative sales approaches to address their energy needs. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product development, and marketing) to tailor solutions and proposals that meet customer requirements. Achieve and exceed sales targets, tracking performance through CRM systems and reporting on pipeline progress. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and competitors in the EV and renewable energy space to inform sales tactics. Represent ZPN Energy at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, such as OCPP 2.0.1 and PAS 1899:2022, in all sales activities.

Requirements



Proven track record in business development or sales, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the energy technology, renewables, or EV charging sector. Strong technical knowledge of EV charging technologies, including protocols like OCPP, load balancing, network configurations, and compliance with UK regulations (e.g., Building Regulations, IET Wiring Regulations). Demonstrated ability to win and grow high-value accounts through consultative, multi-stakeholder sales processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with experience in strategic planning and account management. Familiarity with the UK EV infrastructure landscape, including public, home, and fleet charging solutions, costs, and benefits. A degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office suite.
