The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused
Business Development Manager
to join our core team. This role plays a
key strategic function
in developing and managing B2B education partnerships across Asia, with a particular focus on
Mainland China and Hong Kong
.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving overseas sales growth, managing institutional client relationships, and supporting the expansion of Visit University's educational travel programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise and undertake market research to support the company's sales and marketing strategies within Asian B2B education markets, particularly Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Develop and implement B2B sales strategies to maintain long-term relationships with existing institutional clients, particularly in Mainland China, Hong Kong and other Asian markets, ensuring continued engagement and repeat purchases of educational travel services.
Identify and develop new business opportunities by expanding the company's client base among Asia education groups, international schools and education agencies.
Liaise with senior management to determine the range, positioning and pricing of educational travel programmes offered to Asia institutional clients.
Manage key B2B client accounts in Asia, maintaining regular communication to understand client requirements, purchasing behaviour and market expectations.
Develop and maintain commercial relationships with UK-based suppliers, including universities and academic institutions, and identify new partnership opportunities to support programme expansion.
Compile and analyse sales and market data, prepare proposals and reports, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management on overseas market performance and business development opportunities.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Bilingual fluency in Chinese and English
(spoken and written).
Bilingual fluency in Chinese and English
Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Marketing, Education, International Relations, Tourism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience working with Asian B2B education clients
Experience operating within the UK education or commercial environment, including working with universities, academic institutions or education service providers.
Demonstrated capability in B2B sales, account management and business development, including maintaining long-term client relationships and supporting repeat purchases of services.
Ability to conduct market research, analyse sales and market data, and translate insights into sales strategies and business development decisions.
Strong organisational and digital skills, with proficiency in digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and collaboration platforms.
