Overview



The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and driving sales growth in the fit-out and furniture services sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with experience in the construction, property, or furniture industries. You will work closely with the Managing Director and project teams to develop tailored solutions for clients and ensure a smooth handover from sales to project delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities



Proactively identify and target new business opportunities in the fit-out and furniture markets. Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold calling, attending industry events, leveraging existing relationships, etc. Respond to requests for information/proposal (RFPs & RFIs), and tender opportunities in a timely and professional manner. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers Conduct face-to-face meetings, presentations, and site visits with potential and existing clients to fully understand their requirements. Provide consultation and guidance to clients on fit-out design and furniture solutions that align with their needs. Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, quotes, and presentations to clients. Lead contract negotiations to secure new business agreements and close sales. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that project proposals are feasible and aligned with company capabilities. Work closely with the project management/operations department and design teams to ensure seamless handover and project execution. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to support sales efforts. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system (HubSpot). Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, forecasts, and opportunities. Meet or exceed all agreed sales targets. Adhere to all company-issued policies and procedures. Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by the company. Essential Skills and Experience



Understanding of the office fitout process, including design, construction, and project management. Background in business-to-business sales, particularly in construction or fitout markets. Proven experience in achieving sales targets and negotiating contracts. Sound understanding of pricing strategies and profit margins. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills. Seasoned networker (attending industry events to generate leads and build connections). Ability to analyse market data and sales performance to inform strategy Experience using CRM systems for tracking leads and managing client relationships.

Desirable Skills and Experience



Management experience in a previous role, demonstrating capability to lead and develop teams. Experience negotiating with large corporations or complex projects. Familiarity with international markets or with multinational corporations. Comfort in speaking at industry conferences or client events, representing the company effectively. Full project management experience - from proposal through to delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. Experience leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
