About Aspira

Aspira is a cutting edge drone manufacturing company, developing drones and technology for spray applications and cleaning. The BDM will work closely with the Marketing team to build and convert leads, build channel partnerships and drive revenue.

Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, working hand-in-glove with the Marketing team to ensure that lead generation, nurture and conversion are aligned. This person will bridge the gap between marketing campaigns and sales execution, shaping strategies, managing the pipeline, presenting proposals, negotiating agreements and closing deals. The role will also involve ongoing account development and working with product/engineering teams to articulate value propositions.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Marketing to interpret campaign results, lead generation data and market intelligence to shape the sales pipeline. Work with marketing team on developing the pipeline Qualify inbound leads and convert into pipeline opportunities; proactively hunt new business (cold-targeting, networking, channel partner identification). Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline in CRM (e.g., Salesforce or similar) with accurate forecasts and reporting. Craft proposals, presentations and commercial terms; lead negotiations to contract signature. Build strong relationships with key decision-makers in target industries (e.g., drone-shows, manufacturing, aerospace, events). Work with Product/Engineering/Operations to understand technical details, product roadmap, and ensure the buyer value-story is correctly articulated. Provide feedback to Marketing on messaging, collateral, competitive intelligence and market trends to refine inbound/outbound campaigns. Attend industry events, trade-shows, webinars and represent Aspira externally to generate leads and deepen market presence. Monitor competitor activity, market developments, pricing trends and identify new verticals or geographies for growth. Meet or exceed agreed sales targets, volume growth and margin objectives. Maintain excellent client service and account management on won business to support repeat revenue and referrals.
Key Skills and RequirementsEssential:

Proven track record (minimum 3-5 years) in business development or sales in a B2B environment -- ideally UAV technology, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace or high-value services. Strong commercial acumen: able to read market data, build business cases, negotiate contracts and close deals. Excellent communication and presentation skills (written, verbal) -- able to articulate complex technical/engineering value propositions to non-technical buyers. Experience working closely with Marketing (lead generation, campaign tracking, CRM) and converting marketing-generated leads into booked sales. Comfortable working independently and as part of a small sized team in a fast-paced growth company. Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline forecasting, reporting metrics and sales dashboards. Strong organisational skills, time-management, resilient under target pressure and able to prioritise multiple opportunities. Willingness to travel (UK and overseas as required). Full UK driving licence (if required for client visits).
Desirable:

Experience in the drone / UAV / aerospace / events industry or adjacent sectors. Existing network of C-Suite / senior contacts in target verticals. Knowledge of partner/channel sales models or ability to establish/discover partnerships. Familiarity with digital marketing-led campaign metrics (e.g., MQL ? SQL conversion) and linking marketing ROI to sales outcomes. Degree (or equivalent) in business, engineering, marketing or related field.

Strategic thinker but also hands-on: able to execute daily sales activity while thinking longer term about market positioning. Credible, confident, engaging personality -- able to build rapport quickly with senior stakeholders. Analytical and data-orientated: uses data to drive decisions, refine approach and measure results. Adaptable and comfortable working in a growth-phase company with fluid priorities.
Salary + OTE / Benefits

30-40k base (depending on experience) + uncapped OTE

Working Location & Hours

Office: NG22 8LS (UK). Full-time, Monday-Friday, standard hours with flexibility for travel and events. Hybrid working possible (if agreed) but expectation of regular presence in office and external meetings.
