ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a Business Development Manager who can deal with a high volume of business development activity including outbound telephone, social media, networking to generate opportunities, proposals, and sales throughout the whole sales cycle. You will be a mentor and active leader, ensuring great customer service and a quality end to end delivery.
Required skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and work experience within a similar organisation or key account/sales role
  • Commercially astute and a proven track record in Business Development activities (market analysis, sales & marketing, major account planning & customer engagement, sales performance management, revenue and margin growth)
  • Proficient in using CRM tools such as Dynamics or Salesforce
  • Being results orientated and driven to exceed objectives set for turnover, profitability and service promotion is essential
  • Proven ability to establish strategic alliances with key decision makers internally and externally, combined with the ability to model this behaviour for direct reports
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills is a must
  • Out of the box thinker, self-motivated, result-driven and working independently
  • Flexible approach to travel and working hours
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Business Development Manager will report into the Sales Director, updating on leads and potential growth for the year within our Food Safety, Retail and Restaurant team - partnering on innovation and solution to bring maximum opportunities for the business. This opportunity has a great exposure to a diverse business approach, with great training and further development!
Key activities:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted industries and sectors.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through market research, networking, and prospecting.
  • Conduct consultative sales meetings to understand client challenges and position relevant solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, technical) to tailor proposals and win deals.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and close new business agreements.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
