Learning and Skills are a dynamic team within the Education, Schools and Inclusion service. We deliver learning opportunities to the most vulnerable residents in Gateshead, provide apprenticeships to over 400 businesses, and create project opportunities through external funding to help move people nearer to the labour market.

About the role...
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Officer to support our apprenticeship team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in an education-based marketing and/or sales environment, selling services to clients, and meeting challenging targets.
You will have excellent written and creative skills, alongside a range of digital skills that enables you to use databases, hold virtual meetings, and use presentation software.
With a solid understanding of media, you will be responsible for developing trusted and long-lasting professional relationships with employers, learners, partners, and stakeholders, including across the Council, government departments and the voluntary and community sector. Using networking and marketing strategies, you will identify and negotiate our provision that meets the needs of our customers.
You will be comfortable attending public relations events, preparing and delivering presentations and writing information for publications, promotional leaflets, and social media, ensuring the highest level of customer service in all aspects of the role.
Working with care, integrity, and trust, you will promote Gateshead Council Learning and Skills to customers using a range of telemarketing, online, and face-to-face strategies. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate digital records and documents relating to learners, employers, and partner agreements by using technology such as e-forms, shared document spaces, virtual meetings, and CRM systems to enhance communication.

You'll be paid a competitive salary 28,624 - 31,067 per annum.
