We're looking for an experienced dental Operations Manager who can keep a busy private practice running smoothly -- and who also has the commercial awareness to help grow the business.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the practice, making sure everything is compliant, organised, and working as it should. Alongside this, you'll play a key role in developing the business: improving systems, strengthening marketing, increasing patient conversion, and helping us grow in a way that feels ethical, sustainable, and aligned with our values.
Dental experience is essential due to compliance and regulatory requirements
.
About us
We are a 6-surgery private practice in Widnes, operating a membership-based model. We also welcome patients for specialist and one-off treatments such as facial aesthetics, implants, and consultant-led orthodontics -- many of whom go on to become long-term members.
We've successfully transitioned from NHS to private care. The foundations are in place. The team is loyal and committed. Now we need someone who can bring structure, clarity, and commercial momentum.
The role
You'll work closely with the Principal and have support from external business consultants, but you'll be trusted to take ownership of the practice's operations.
Your primary responsibility is to ensure the practice runs well every day. Your secondary (but important) responsibility is to help develop the business -- improving patient journeys, supporting marketing activity, and identifying opportunities for growth.
This is not a pure sales role. Growth here comes from doing the basics exceptionally well and then building from there.
What we offer
Salary from 40000-45,000+, negotiable depending on experience
Full-time role (open to 9 day fortnight for the right person)
Flexibility for occasional working from home once established
A supportive, kind Principal and an established team
Real autonomy -- no micromanagement
The chance to shape systems and influence the future of the practice
What you'll be doing
Operations & Compliance
Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice
Ensure full compliance with dental regulations and governance
Maintain clear systems, processes, and documentation
Team Leadership
Support, develop, and manage the team
Set clear expectations and address issues when they arise
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training
Business Development & Growth
Improve how we handle enquiries, follow-ups, and patient journeys
Support and implement marketing activity (digital and local)
Increase conversion into treatment and membership
Use data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
Finance & Performance
Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational performance
Work with the Principal to support sustainable, profitable growth
Who this role is for
This role would suit someone who:
Has strong experience managing dental practice operations
Is confident with compliance and doesn't need supervision
Enjoys improving systems and making things work better
Understands that growth comes from consistency, clarity, and good leadership
Cares about patients and team culture, but isn't afraid of accountability
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior operational role within dentistry
Strong understanding of compliance and practice management
Commercial awareness and interest in developing the business
Clear, confident communication skills
If this sounds like the kind of role you've been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a short covering letter, telling us why this role feels right for you.
