We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineering Manager to join Amazon's Global Accounting Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team.
The Accounting BI team supports the global Accounting organization with process automation/improvements, development of automated reporting solutions/tools, enabling the accounting organization to process, analyze, access and consume accurate and timely financial data. The team supports the global accounting organization and partners closely with accountants and financial analysts supporting the various businesses and industries Amazon operates in.
As a Business Intelligence Engineering Manager, you should be an experienced manager, capable of leading and inspiring a team of both junior and experienced business intelligence engineers. You should have experience in the design, creation, and management of business analytics and process automation. You will lead a UK based team in building near real time process automations, analytics, and reporting solutions for global accounting teams across Amazon.
You will be expected to serve as a strategic leader in integrating AI capabilities into business intelligence operations. You will identify opportunities to leverage AI for enhanced insights, optimization, and operational efficiency. You will be expected to foster a culture of experimentation with AI tools while maintaining data governance and quality standards.
You should have excellent business and communication skills, partnering guiding stakeholders in the automation and development of key business processes and Accounting solutions. You should be an experienced manager, capable of guiding development teams in the building of tools and products for non-technical roles supporting recurring process needs. You should be able to lead design reviews and offer feedback on design, integration, performance and scalability issues. Serve as an authority in the area of technical domain expertise and hire, mentor, and develop junior business intelligence engineers.
You will support multiple Director level leaders across the Accounting organization, owning and supporting multiple critical accounting processes across the various businesses and industries Amazon operates in.
Key job responsibilities
Hire, Develop and lead a team of business intelligence engineers supporting the global accounting organization
Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging Gen AI tools and their applications in business intelligence, data analytics, and automation.
Lead a BI team in the adoption of best practices in report development, data integrity, test, design, validation, and documentation.
Represent the Accounting BI team in collaboration and partnership with Accounting and software development teams driving enterprise level projects
Developing agile feedback loop mechanisms supporting the evaluation of new initiatives, measuring process effectiveness and providing recommendations for improving solutions.
Leading a team that owns the design, development, and maintenance for a portfolio of solutions supporting internal/external global stakeholders
Coordinating project prioritization with multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and overseeing the simultaneous execution of multiple end to end solutions within defined timelines
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management
- Experience leading and influencing the BI strategy of your team or organization
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with ETL
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing and delivering cross functional custom reporting solutions
- Experience in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding
