Location: Home based - This role requires a minimum of two days per month on-site at our Head Office in Newcastle upon Tyne
Hours per week: 37
Salary: Up to 67,000 depending on experience
About the role
We're excited to be looking for a Business IT Integration Architect (Diversification and Learning Solutions) to join our Diversification team.
You'll be part of the Diversification team, collaborating with colleagues across business, learning and IT. Our work centres on creating new opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives and delivering learning technology solutions that help the organisation grow and make a real impact for our learners and stakeholders.
You'll act as the link between business and IT, supporting the Diversification team in transforming ideas and opportunities into secure, scalable and workable technology solutions. You'll guide technical direction, turn business requirements into meaningful outcomes and ensure the organisation's technology can support growth and innovation. It's a hands-on position where you'll help to shape strategy and get involved in building solutions that have a tangible impact across the organisation.
How you'll make an impact:

  • Designing and delivering integrated digital learning and assessment solutions that support diversification initiatives and organisational growth
  • Working closely with diversification and business teams to understand needs and translate them into practical technical solutions
  • Collaborating closely with IT colleagues to design and implement solutions in line with architecture principles, including modernising and integrating legacy systems where needed
  • Facilitating workshops and training sessions, sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and ensuring teams work effectively with a clear focus on outcomes and impact
  • Getting hands on with development when required while setting technical standards, best practices and guidance for wider teams
We'd love to hear from you if you offer the following:
  • Strong experience in solution architecture, full-stack development and delivering complex technical solutions
  • Expert in solution architecture full stack development and integration (PHP, Laravel, Symfony, Vue.js, HTML/CSS, APIs, Git)
  • Strong database expertise (MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud/server knowledge (Linus, Apache, Docker, AWS)
  • Deep understanding of secure by design principles, GDPR and cybersecurity frameworks (ISO27001 OWASP)
  • Experience with UX/UI, eLearning platforms (Moodle, SCORM, xAPI) and digital assessment/certification systems
  • Passionate about driving business growth and innovation using technology
  • Confident working across business and IT, helping both sides understand requirements
  • Committed to creating secure, scalable and maintainable solutions that follow architectural standards and adapt to future needs
