Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Business Manager plays a lead role alongside the Headteacher to ensure that the school meets its educational and operational aims. Working in close cooperation with the Trust's central finance, capital, IT and HR executives, the Business Manager upholds the highest standards of business and operational practice within the school and ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school's learning objectives.


This role would suit an aspiring Business Manager, perhaps with finance or wider administrative experience who is ready to step up into a wider role, or an existing Business Manager seeking an opportunity to start a career within Bourne Education Trust. The Business Manager role at Brookwood is unique, providing the successful candidate with a strong foundation of operational experience across day-to-day school finance and administrative functions as well as the more strategic and leadership elements of the role.

Key responsibilities include:




Work closely with the Trust's central team and cluster leader to set the strategic financial and business direction of the school Attend senior management / leadership team, full governing committee and appropriate governors' sub-committee meetings as necessary

Requirements include:




Essential




Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children Minimum 2 Years of relevant work experience Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, analytical skills and problem solving

Desirable




Accounting knowledge / qualification or equivalent experience in financial management Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting
