Job Description

UKmate is a rental platform that digitalizes the entire renting process for overseas students and young professionals. This includes online viewings, sales consultations, tenant background checks, contract signing, deposit payments, and even property management. Its efficiency reduces the company's operating costs, tenancy signing costs, and landlord maintenance costs, ultimately benefiting both tenants and landlords.

UKmate serves 2,500 international students and 1,000 local professionals annually. The platform currently manages a 500 million portfolio of UK real estate investments and is rapidly expanding in London, Sheffield, Southampton, Reading, and other cities. The platform offers a wide range of properties, from luxury high-rises, villas, and shared accommodations for multiple occupants, to budget-friendly options. 30% of the properties on the platform are self-owned by UKmate and its development partners.

About the Role: As a Property Manager - Maintenance, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance of properties on our platform. You will work closely with property owners, tenants, and maintenance teams to ensure that all properties are well-maintained and meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities



1. Client & Landlord Management



Serve as the key liaison for Mandarin-speaking landlords, translating needs and expectations clearly between stakeholders. Deliver clear, professional communication in both Mandarin and English regarding property updates, legal obligations, and financial reports. Build long-term trust and upsell additional services as needed.

2. Property Management Operations



Oversee full tenancy lifecycle: advertising, referencing, check-in, check-out, deposit deductions. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and compliance certification renewals (EPC, Gas Safety, EICR, etc.). Monitor tenancy renewals, arrears, and legal notices (Section 8/21). Ensure voids are minimised and properties are rent-ready.

3. Legal & Compliance Oversight



Ensure all properties meet local council regulations, especially for HMOs. Maintain accurate digital records of safety checks, inspections, and communication. Coordinate with legal or compliance officers where required.

4. Business Development & Partnership Growth



Assist the senior team in onboarding new landlords, particularly Mandarin-speaking clients. Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion through referrals and satisfied clients. Attend networking events or webinars as a company representative.

Key Requirements



Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)

Strong understanding of UK letting laws and property compliance Previous experience in property management, lettings, or real estate (minimum 1 year) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Familiarity with UK property management systems (e.g., Arthur, Alto, Reapit) preferred Valid UK driving licence preferred

Pay: 29,000.00-40,000.00 per year
