Business Procurement Officer



This role is 100% office based in Blandford, Dorset. Applicants must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years and be willing and eligible to undergo full Security Clearance.

This is a varied, busy role where you will lead for all supply chain activities, from component procurement and supplier negotiations to stock management. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities



Procurement



Lead buying of goods in line with technical specifications at best value. Research and assess cost-saving opportunities. Evaluate, maintain, and develop supplier relationships. Prepare purchase orders, manage quotations, resolve supplier issues, and handle Sage 200 records. Evaluate supplier performance; maintain supplier records and quality folders.

Stock Management



Maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring uninterrupted customer supply. Manage excess/obsolete stock sales, stock takes, replenishment, and reporting. Create part numbers, Works Orders, Sales Orders, and PRAs; maintain traceability in Sage 200. Update JIRA workflows with serials, revisions, test results, etc

.


Production Support



Support product build, test, packaging, and dispatch. Ensure ESD procedures and IPC-A-610 standards are followed. Inspect, build, test, and repair systems; process software licence orders. Generate and amend Manufacturing Instructions and quality documentation. Assist with PCBA and sub-contract manufacturing jobs.

Key Skills & Experience



Essential:



Excellent negotiation, organisational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail; problem-solving attitude. Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access). Knowledge of SAGE or similar ERP, and stock management procedures. Good manual dexterity.

Advantageous:



Experience with surface mount manufacturing equipment, import/export, or ISO 9001:2015. Understanding of software testing, TCP/IP, Linux, LAN, telecom, mobile networks, PC/server hardware. IPC-A-610 certified.
