What you will do




As a

Business Support Coordinator

, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the SFRS by delivering high-quality administrative support. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing correspondence - handling incoming and outgoing emails and telephone calls, ensuring queries are directed and resolved promptly. Scheduling and diary management - organising meetings, booking rooms, and maintaining calendars for senior leaders and teams. Document preparation and management - drafting, formatting, and proofreading reports, presentations, and official documents; maintaining accurate records and filing systems. Data entry and reporting - updating databases, compiling statistics, and producing reports to support operational and strategic decision-making. Financial administration - processing purchase orders, invoices, and expense claims in line with County Council procedures. Meeting support - preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action points to ensure timely completion. Customer service - answering non-emergency calls, providing clear and helpful information to the public, and liaising with internal teams to resolve queries.



You will need



A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint. Ability to work collaboratively towards shared goals, as well as independently. Confident communication skills and a professional approach.

The team




Based at Endeavour House, Ipswich, the Business Support Team provides assistance to multiple departments and acts as the non-emergency link to the public. You will have opportunities to get involved in events such as Open Days and the County Show, and work with teams across the service. Office days are typically Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays. We are flexible and happy to discuss arrangements in line with County Council policy. There would be a requirement to be office based during the initial training period.
