PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 45,000 - 50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Plus London Weighting Allowance 5,441. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Business Manager will play a key role in providing comprehensive administrative and business support to the Company Secretary and the wider team, enabling the Secretariat to successfully deliver on its strategic objectives and goals.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Partner with the Company Secretary to ensure the Secretariat Team is well-organised and delivers effective governance services across BBC Commercial businesses.
Act as the primary liaison for Commercial Board directors, particularly non-executives, ensuring smooth communication and support.
Coordinate meetings, including scheduling Board, Committee, and Leadership sessions, booking rooms, arranging travel, and supporting administrative logistics.
Oversee document and information management, including publishing meeting packs via Diligent Boards, maintaining the Secretariat intranet site, and securely handling incoming correspondence.
Provide comprehensive administrative and business support to the Secretariat Team, including processing purchase orders, managing invoices, and maintaining shared calendars.
Collaborate with the Governance Manager to maintain the corporate calendar and ensure all key dates and commitments are accurately diarised.
Oversee and manage the Company Secretary's diary, ensuring efficient scheduling and prioritisation of commitments.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Proven experience of working in a company secretariat, or similar team.
Strong company statutory compliance experience.
Excellent IT and project management skills
Experienced in working with confidential and sensitive information
Highly proficient at managing a varied workload.
Proficient at adopting and utilising new technology platforms.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Familiarity with Diligent Boards and Diligent Entities (or similar governance software is ideal.
