About the Role


We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Business Support Team Lead

to join a leading environmental consultancy. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions across the organisation. Based in London, the position requires regular on-site presence during agreed working hours, with occasional travel to regional offices.

Key Responsibilities


The Business Support Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the effectiveness of the administrative function. Key duties include:

Leading and managing the administrative team, ensuring timely and efficient completion of day-to-day tasks. Managing workload distribution, prioritising incoming requests, and maintaining inbox and task management systems. Driving continuous improvement through workflow optimisation and process automation (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate). Ensuring internal documentation and procedural guides are current and accessible via SharePoint. Acting as a subject matter expert for all administrative systems and procedures. Providing high-level support in compiling, formatting, and editing complex, multi-disciplinary bids, reports, and internal CVs. Assisting in the coordination and documentation of health and safety (H&S) compliance, including DSE assessments, risk registers, and certifications. Leading internal and external ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audit preparation and coordination. Coordinating travel arrangements for consultant site visits and senior leadership. Supporting internal events, social value initiatives, and company-wide committees. Managing front-of-house and office management duties including guest reception, call handling, mail management, ordering supplies, and liaising with landlords and service providers. Supporting the Operations Manager and Finance Director with strategic initiatives and special projects.

Skills and Experience


The successful candidate will possess:

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, support, and motivate a small team. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a strong sense of initiative and accountability. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the confidence to liaise across all levels of the business. Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in editing and document formatting. Experience working with complex documents such as bids and proposals. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and confidence working with digital tools including SharePoint and Power Automate. A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to operational excellence and professionalism.

Qualifications



Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A-C/9-4), including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.

Pay: 28,000.00 per year
