Job Overview


Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau (Caithness CAB) is a local charity, offering free, impartial, and confidential advice to everyone within the Caithness geographical area.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Business Sustainability Officer to play a key role in shaping our business sustainability and driving forward growth within our project portfolio of advice services and support. The individual we are looking for will have excellent communication, problem-solving, and research skills, be proactive, and strive to grow and succeed within their role at Caithness CAB. This unique role, working 28 hours per week, is ideal for you if you are seeking a hybrid working arrangement.

You will be working with the Chief Officer, Board of Management, and community to initially develop a three-year funding strategy for Caithness CAB and source funding streams to support the development and implementation of additional support and advice services for the benefit of our local community, with an overarching remit of reducing the poverty gap within Caithness communities.

Your role will be to engage with the Caithness community to ascertain specific wants and needs during times of uncertainty and change. You will also research the availability of third-sector funding to support the lifecycle of projects to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the funding strategy. You will build connections with funders and have strong community networks to shape future projects.

The role will also involve reviewing project completion, ensuring timely and accurate completion of reports, and performing any other reasonable tasks consistent with the role's purpose and the needs of Caithness CAB.

Duties



You will be a public face of Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau

You will work closely with the Chief Officer to develop strategies for a sustainable future of Caithness Citizens Advice Bureau

You will be creative, have good influencing skills, and stakeholder management

You will research and identify funding opportunities following the results of the GAP Analysis

You will draft applications and apply to relevant funders for funding

You will develop strategies for new projects, set deadlines, and create workflows

You will build and maintain investment relationships with funders, partner organisations, and stakeholders

You will contribute to the successful delivery of specific projects

You will be responsible for communicating with funders, maintaining an accurate record of all funding activity, and reporting on projects as specified

You will organise press releases and marketing on the new funding

Experience



Experience of working with third sector organisations Confident and creative use of social media and other marketing tools Knowledge of applying for and securing funds from a variety of sources Knowledge and understanding of recording accurate information and reporting Experienced user of technology and software packages Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships regarding business activity
