About the role





Are you passionate about sustainability and making a difference to local communities? At Salix Homes we're committed to providing safe, high-quality, energy efficient homes and our Sustainability Officer is key to making this happen.



Working alongside the Sustainability Lead, you'll help to design and deliver projects that promote energy efficiency, environmental performance, and customer engagement across our housing portfolio. You will be liaising with customers, third-party providers, and a range of stakeholders. Effective communication skills and ability to understand the diverse needs of our customers will be key. Salix is also decarbonising its business, and you will monitor and report emissions from our own business as well as suppliers.



The role - What I'll be doing




Investigate our stock data and develop delivery and funding programmes which support de-carbonisation. Liaise with customers to encourage sustainable energy practices and provide guidance on the use of newly installed technologies. Liaise with customers, colleagues and contractors to allow the installation of a range of technologies Contribute to the preparation and submission of funding bids for retrofit programmes and sustainability-focused projects. Resolve customer and third-party enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and service improvement. Work collaboratively across departments, identifying how to decarbonise Salix's business. Gather and organise environmental data related to pollution control, waste management, recycling, and renewable energy initiatives. Maintain and update internal data systems and performance tracking tools to support energy modelling.

What we're looking for




This role involves regular travel visiting properties in our housing portfolio throughout Salford, so a full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential Organised and a self-starter, someone who is curious. Empathetic and comfortable working with our customers in their homes. Ideally a background in sustainability or housing. Good IT skills, being able to use a range of back-office systems, as well as Office 365.
