A leading engineering solutions provider is seeking a
Business Unit Manager - Mechanical Products
to take full responsibility for their mechanical products division.
This is a senior leadership role managing strategy, operations, and P&L. You will work closely with sales to develop the Go-To-Market strategy and manage projects from proposal through to delivery. Building strong relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and end users will be a key part of the position.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sale
Develop proposals, quotations, and technical specifications for mechanical products
Estimate resources, costs, and equipment requirements for projects
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery
Oversee quotation and tender processes from start to completion
Act as the technical authority for mechanical solutions
Post-Sale
Manage the mechanical products business unit and multiple ongoing projects
Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate as necessary
Monitor stage payments, invoicing, and aged debt
Lead monthly product business reviews and reporting
Implement process improvements to optimise operations
General
Ensure compliance with company quality, health, and safety standards
Maintain professional communication with customers and partners
Support wider business objectives and projects
Requirements
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
At least 5 years' experience in Mechatronic and Power Transmission (mechanical bias)
Proven leadership experience, including P&L and budget management
Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally
