Based at our Causeway Prime factory you will be responsible for processing prime muscles into cuts that are ready for use in the foodservice and retail market. The successful candidate will have butchery experience and will hold excellent hygiene standards to ensure that high quality, food safe products are produced.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Inspect meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and removing them along with any excess fat.
Accurately process prime muscles into cuts that are ready for use, e.g. using knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws or any other equipment which may be required.
Check products to ensure they are up to standard.
Monitor machines and equipment and adjust if necessary.
Maintain and clean machines used in meat preparing process.
To maintain minimum waste and ensure all waste is recorded.
Liaise with supervisors.
Complete all tasks in a timely fashion.
Essential criteria:
3 years' butchery experience: successful applicant must be competent and confident in butchery of all beef, pork & lamb.
Good food hygiene knowledge
Ability to carry out manual handling duties.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Numerate and literate.
Have a flexible approach to working hours.
