A opportunity to work with one of City of London's leading retail butchers - here at Porterford, we are looking to build and develop a strong team of skilled butchers with exceptional counter skills and excellent customer service.

Duties
Prepare and cut various types of meat according to specifications, ensuring high-quality presentation for customers.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to strict food safety standards.
Process orders efficiently while managing inventory levels of meat products.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure timely preparation of oreders requiring specific cuts.
Monitor and maintain equipment used in meat processing, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
Educate customers about different cuts of meat and recommend cooking techniques to enhance their culinary experience.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to food production and preparation.
Experience
Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role within the culinary or restaurant industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Familiarity with various cuts of meat and their appropriate uses in cooking.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members alike.
A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality food products.
The Candidate

Must be able to work well as part of a team.

Knowledge of all butchery cuts from all species.
Be able to adapt from task to task.
Follow manager's instructions throughout.
This is a physically demanding job, must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Well-organised.
Be organised and able to work in a clean and safe manner.
Have a positive attitude to work and be flexible regarding working hours.
Be able to adhere to food safety, ensuring HACCP and CCP's are maintained and enforced, with good manufacturing practices, reporting any issues where necessary.
Able to work safely with knives, hand tools, utensils and other specialist equipment.
Position available is Monday to Friday ,
