Overview


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Butchery Manager to lead our butchery team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of food production and butchery techniques, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Butchery Manager will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional products to our customers while maintaining an efficient and safe working environment. You will be working in a customer focused role and should enjoy creating an attractive and innovative counter whilst providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities



Oversee daily operations of the butchery, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving supplies while minimising waste. Train and mentor staff in butchery techniques, food preparation, and safe handling practices. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all aspects of butchery operations. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment and work areas in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with other staff to create innovative meat products that meet customer preferences. Monitor product quality, ensuring that all items meet the established standards before reaching customers. Producing and presenting an extensive range of traditional hand finished products. Boning out, cutting and trimming lamb and pork and our own home grown beef. Working alongside the Farm shop team to provide a consistent customer experience. Preparing meat for the kitchen for production for deli and dishes for retail in the farm shop. Preparing phone and online customer orders for collection. Adhering to an excellent standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the butchery and completing all daily check lists and cleaning schedules with knowledge of HACCP procedures. Processing orders, ensuring they are accurate, of the required quality and are received and stored correctly.

Requirements



Proven experience in butchery or a similar role within food production environments. Will have a genuine enthusiasm for food, local produce and The Butcher Baker product. Will be a good leader with excellent people management and team building skills Will be a good communicator, working with customers, suppliers, and team members. Will be cheerful, customer focused and enthusiastic Strong culinary experience with a solid understanding of various meat cuts and preparation methods. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations applicable to butchery operations. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a team. A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all products produced. Due to our rural location it is necessary for applicants to have access to their own transport.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 37,000.00-41,000.00 per year
