Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Negotiation:
Source and procure construction materials and plant hire at the best possible prices.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and hire companies to ensure best value.
Project Coordination:
Liaise closely with project managers to understand project schedules and site requirements.
Organise timely delivery of materials and hired equipment in line with project timelines.
Coordinate off-hire and collection of plant and equipment to avoid unnecessary charges.
Spend Management & Reporting:
Monitor procurement spend against project budgets.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, hire durations, and delivery/collection dates.
Produce and present a weekly procurement and spend report for the management team.
Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and hire companies.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery reliability and service quality.
Compliance & Administration:
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and health and safety requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and operational purposes.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Ability to prioritise workload across multiple active projects.
Attention to detail with good financial awareness.
Competent in Microsoft Excel and other procurement or ERP systems.
Knowledge of construction materials and plant hire equipment is highly desirable.

Previous experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management within the construction industry.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, site teams, and management.
Additional Information:
This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to ensure smooth operations.
The ability to travel to different sites for supplier meetings, material inspections, and vehicle spot checks may be required.
